CD Noticieas del Mundo

This is the first full-length album of Paul Gutierrez, a Colombian-Canadian musician based in Toronto. These compositions reflect Paul’s journey through the genres and traditions that characterize the musical universe of the urban Caribbean, an extensive spiritual landscape with wide geographical borders that, according to Gabriel Garcia Marquez, would also include the Southern United States and Brazil.

Diverse rhythms are intertwined in this production - from Salsa, Bachata, Son, Tropical, Reggae, Funk, Bossa Nova, Cha Cha, and Cumbia - all infused with the exciting sounds of Jazz. It includes twelve songs that speak of celebration, love, and loss; stories of encounters and mis-encounters placed somewhere in the Babel that our cities have become and where also and very often, rage can find political an artistic expression.
